About these tools
These tools were created as a collaboration between Mike Moran (USA) and Martin Spencer (UK). They started life as an attempt to quantify and identify good starter words. In the main, they are either post game analysis tools or tools that work across the whole set of words used by Wordle.
For ranking and picking guesses we use these scoring methods.
In addition to standard and hard modes, you will see references to strict mode in these tools. See modes for clarification.
While it is conceivable that these tools could be used to gain an unfair advantage playing Wordle, that is not their intention. There are far easier ways to cheat for those that are so inclined.
Please note that:
- This is a hobby / fan project written for fun.
- Our web site is currently hosted in the Azure cloud on a free tier with limited resouces and no SLA. We will monitor usage and consider next steps if we start hitting resouce limits.
- The code is not fully production strength. It needs hardening particularly in the area of error handling.
